The Paris-Saclay Cancer Cluster (PSCC), the PSCC Childhood Cancer Working Group, and Imagine for Margo are happy to organize the first-ever hackathon to improve the treatment outcome of childhood cancer. This event is supported by Foundation S and LifeArc.
This exceptional hackathon aims to address the critical need for improved outcomes for children with cancer. Despite advancements in medical research, childhood cancer remains a leading cause of death by disease among young patients. There is an urgent demand for innovative solutions that can enhance diagnosis, treatment, and overall care.
Bringing together experts from different fields, we want to collectively make progress in pediatric oncology and offer a brighter future for children and their families…
Two ways to participate in this event
- Be a candidate: You develop or consider developing an innovative project that can contribute to the fight against pediatric cancers > you can apply to be among the competing projects.
- Be an attendee: You are interested in the pediatric cancer challenge and wish to know more > you can participate as an attendee to the event to listen to the talks, the pitches and to network.

Who can apply?
This hackathon is open to everyone who wish to contribute to revolutionize childhood cancer outcome:
• Oncology biotech developing new treatments with a pediatric indication
• Medtech companies developing new diagnostics or medical devices (medical imaging, wearables …) that can benefit children and teenagers with cancer
• Artificial Intelligence /Machine Learning and digital technology innovators with an interest in pediatric cancers
• Clinician or academic researcher about to create a startup with an interest in pediatric cancer
• Existing biotech or medtech working on adult cancers and wondering about the interest of expanding into pediatric cancer field
Candidates from anywhere in France can apply, as well as all international candidates willing to develop an activity in France.
What type of projects this hackathon is looking for?
- New early detection and diagnostic solutions
- New treatments in any field: immunotherapy, next generation chemos, radiotherapeutics, gene therapy, targeted therapies … including repurposing
- New drug delivery solutions
- New surgical techniques
- Medical device, including prothesis
- Care Solutions, monitoring solutions
- Pain management, side effect management
- Quality of life solutions, supportive care and survivorship
- Digital tools
- Leveraging of AI/ML tools
Hackathon prizes and rewards
- Personal Mentorship by the PSCC: Individual follow-up and regular meetings with the PSCC team.
- Expert Access: Guidance from experts in pharma, academia, and advocacy groups.
- Training Opportunities: Free access to specialized training programs.
- Workspace: Free office and lab space at the PSCC.

The PSCC Childhood Cancer Working Group will first preselect among the candidates those who will have the opportunity to participate in the Hackathon. The winners will be identified during the Hackathon by an expert jury.
