Fanny Jaulin is research director and principal investigator at Gustave Roussy where her team develops cell biology approaches to generate new knowledge and treat cancers. She is also CEO and co-founder of ORAKL Oncology, a startup that develops tumor avatars that mimic patients' responses to drugs to anticipate their effectiveness. She will present her work on organoids derived from patient tumors and the applications of these models in digestive cancers.
Perrine Pinon holds a doctorate in molecular and cellular biology in Switzerland. She started working in the Merck group in 2015 as a biologist in the technical department. And since 2022, she has held the position of Scientific Sales Specialist covering the Biology portfolio for France and many European countries. She will discuss some of the strategies available to improve 3D culture of cancer cells – in the form of spheroids and organoids – and provide some examples of the application of these models in cancer research and therapeutic development.
Clément Salque is a junior partner at Bioqube Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in life sciences and therapeutics in Belgium. He works on all aspects of the investment process and supports his portfolio companies in their success. Before joining Bioqube, Clément was an analyst at INKEF Capital, where he assessed opportunities and supported due diligence of companies, particularly in the oncology space. He will provide an overview of Bioqube Ventures – as an early-stage life sciences fund, and its prospects for funding start-ups with relevant tumor models.
